Soul Country

Soul Country premiered as a radio format on WTUL, New Orleans January, 27 2019. Pioneered by award-winning filmmaker and 35-year community radio veteran DJ, Ric Stewart, Soul Country combines legends with a bumper crop of today’s roots music talent in honky tonk, rockabilly, swamp rock, country blues and countrified soul with all the alt & outlaw in-between. The result — a chorus of America’s top writers and voices hollerin’ “Oh Yeah!” Now in answer to audience requests to get deeper, the format extends to talk and play interviews in the Soul Country podcast which launched March 1, 2022.

Revitalizing the Americana of Westerns, blues and variety, the podcasts & playlists dig into the nitty gritty broached on The Blues Center Interview Series chock full of stories, humor and inspiration.  A trailer for 30-Min doc Blues Rock Hits Soul Country, the series and playlists are live now.
